Summary of Position: 
Implements and controls the administration of all Cardiopulmonary patient services in accordance with the policies of the Hospital and the directives of the Medical Staff.

Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for administration of EKG’s, ABG’s, therapeutic gases, oxygen, aerosol therapy, diagnostic testing, and all aspects of continuous ventilation
  • Responsible for the training, inservices, and education of nursing for respiratory care procedures as directed
  • Maintains a record of treatment and is involved with related billing procedures
  • Maintains and stores equipment and gases in accordance with State and hospital regulations
  • Maintains an active role in Hospital committees as assigned
  • Keeps current regarding advances in respiratory care and management relative to job function
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding knowledge of all patient information (HIPAA), confidential staff and hospital business
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships with all staff members
Education: 
Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.

Experience: 
Minimum one year as a Respiratory Therapist preferred.

Licensure/Certification: 
Current Idaho License Respiratory Therapist; RRT;
Current CPR, ACLS and NRP required; PALS preferred.
