Department: Surgical Services
Status: Full-time, 80 Hours per pay period
Shift: Monday-Friday; 10 Hours shifts, will vary with the needs of the department; Will participate in call rotation
The Perioperative Staff Nurse is a qualified professional nurse who is directly responsible to the Surgical Services Nurse Manager and the Perioperative Charge Nurse to supervise, plan, organize, and direct activities in the surgical suite.
- Accepts leadership responsibilities under varied routine, critical, and/or emergency situations
- Responsible for producing desired patient status and health outcomes through management of nursing staff, equipment, supplies and systems that organize work to be performed
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding knowledge of all patient information (HIPAA), staff and hospital confidential business
- Assists in developing and maintaining nursing objectives, standards and policies
- Participates in staff development and teaching of personnel
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate and receive constructive feedback in a positive manner
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships with all staff members

Ability to read, write legibly and comprehend the written and spoken word in English; Basic computer literacy and ability to effectively learn new software programs required; Successfully completes surgery orientations and checklists; Moderate mathematical computations required; Must be able to organize, prioritize tasks, schedules, messages, etc., with persistence, tact, and patience; Must be able to function independently as well as a team member; Must be mentally alert and possess effective problem solving abilities
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an operating room RN preferred
Current State of Idaho RN license & current BLS certification REQUIRED; ACLS, PALS and Procedural Sedation preferred and must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire.
